Over in Haris Ibrahim’s website, there was a story about Ahmadiyya Muslim in Malaysia and why they were under microscope of our authority, because they have been labelled as deviant cult.

I am still for secularism with freedom for any religion.

Steven Weinberg (Nobel Prize winner 1979) once quoted,

With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

A lot of things are done under the banner of religion, especially those using religion to attain political power, or wanting to implement it under political system. Even though I was brought up in more like mixture of Taosim & Buddhism, I absolutely disagree on giving absolute power to monk and Taoist exorcist on deciding our political system, no way.

Any human are corruptible, the moment they do not have any moral accountability to their action on others, well, you know what will happen.

Anyway, a very prominent Ahmadiyya Muslim caught my attention in college days, yes, the very scientist that shared the 1979 Nobel Prize for Physicist with Steven Weinberg, Sheldon Lee Glashow, the very respectable Late Prof. Abdus Salam from Imperial College is an Admadiyya Muslim. But sad to say, in Pakistan where he originated from, Ahmadiyya Muslim is considered deviant cult and persecuted badly.

AS of today, as I see the zealots of religious authority in my homeland here, the question is, are we better off ? Let me leave you with this piece of news. The difference is, our religious department using law to persecute the people. The other are using bullet and sword.

I seriously need readers of this blog to be aware of, we cannot let this world fall into the hand of theocratic fascist, that wanting to implement law according to religion of some kind,a lot of modern day Galileo will lose their head. Our civilization is at stake , believe me.

Freedom of religion has its limit, the moment they started acting like gangsters with tribalism behavior of witch hunt and persecution of others, we need to put a stop to it, we need to demand Moral Accountability of those preaching the religion, especially the clerics communities at large, we need to stop going to their sermon of hate and asking others to do the same. Only when they are willing to preach value of inclusiveness, love and peace, then we will tune in.
