For those of you thinking of picking up blogging as 2009 resolution, below is a few nice hints how to make your blog readable and enjoying from user experience.
Keep the paragraph short, the moment reader needs to scroll, they tend to lose track of which line is it. If the paragraph is too long, it will be quite hard to read them.
If you have photo, make sure you crop it to make the image smaller, large image will make the loading takes longer, also considering using thumbnail whenever possible, makes it nicer to browse.
Limit the number of entry per display, some people had like 2007 entries still on the first page, thrown in the images, it will take you forever to load, even after finishing first few entries, the page still loading. In addition, it eats up computer memory resources.
If you like your blog page to load fast, reduce the graphics involved. Use Jpeg file, with lower quality, it will load faster.
When Bush duck the shoe. I thought to myself, what the journalist did was outright foolish, though I may sound politically incorrect that, throwing shoe in Arab means a big insult. Whether the insult is on Bush or not, I cannot tell.
Anyway, today I spotted this news, about shoe again, the “Guru” of the shoe that was born in Malaysia, even came from the same state as I am.
I have this interesting problem. I have this quite well off neighbor living opposite me. They have a few cars, Camry,BMW,Chevy,Kia,Corolla. The family is only like 3 daughters + 1 young son that still do not drive.
Being rich does not bother me, even at time they parked their car to the street near my side of the house and it took a bit of trouble to maneuver around is also not much of problem. I usually parked my car inside the gate.
The biggest problem of all time is, all the family members like to use horn to get whoever inside the house to open the gate/house door. Anyway, the house can only take in 1 car at a time. All the members were so lazy to come down to press the door bell or maybe called up using cell phone or anything. Just using horn, that’s it and it is quite annoying even during night time.
In a way, treating the Mom or the maid like remote control. Well,in my own opinion since they all have nice car, and flush with cash, getting a few extra wireless remote control for the gate ain’t that big deal right ? But no, I just hope they get a bigger house somewhere and move out.
I am thinking of this idea to install a horn facing their house, every 5 minutes will trigger a horn to get whoever in the house to come rushing. I just want to annoy the hell out of them.
